Chino's review: Foreign music

So it isnt technically a music post but it sorta is depending how you see it. I am not good with Pop music neither am I a fan of Pop music. I hate it and I sadly can't stand it. But during summer I found these 2 a bit interesting. Yes Kpop's Girls generation... Okay who the fuck am I kidding I am here posting about something not releated to the blogs music and I know I broke the blog code but hear me out. Its for the shits and giggles. I need a rest from all the shit I post here. I mean what music blogspot covers up majority of the shit I have done. I mean look at the dates I sometimes post music from 1-6 times a fucking week. It has got to be one of the few highly active blogspots in blogspots. Maybe not famous or well known as MEM or Chug life or those other good ones that have 40 people run them yet they seem to look on daily posts for that matter. Point is I need a break from music and concentrate in much more of a different perspective in music... Hmmm by starting off. Around August I believe early or mid August I found myself wrapped to 2 artists on the pop area. One I just mentioned Girls Generation and the Jpop's big star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. This was a little few days are hours after discovering Silent Siren or even Onsa to that extend of point. Youtubing my curiosity of music choice mainly because I did got over the whole Emo violence noise and as for Math rock it is hard to find many of the good ones mainly because I have already found most of them. I started noticing a pattern on both music styles. So my concious turned to something I might just want to listen maybe to get back at my music. It doesnt really mean I am a hipster because I enjoy other culture in music but I am the guy who will appreciate music even if its at its lowest quality like the American pop music. And since I have studied music for the past 3-4 years I may want to focus on other music of other regions in that case. I don't want to be that "hardcore" asshole who believes "My music is so good and your music is faggot gay shit" no not that guy we all hate that guy we'd all have to agree. So by turning into the pop music in other countries I mainly compared them to the crap I live right next to. So lets speak of it shall we. This is rather more of a lets say lesson review or a opinion of music.

Finding Girls generation wasn't as hard as any of us expect bands like Tricot, Silent siren and Onsa were much harder to find in reality. Listening to this 9 all girl kpop group did sorta gave me a mix feeling on there music but I will give it to them they still impressed me due to the fact they all have equal parts to there songs. I have also learned 2 of these hot babes are from the U.S and speak English and don't have the accent neither. I came across some songs of there's that were okay but just not my kind of jam until.... I came across Gee. Yes the song Gee... Which was in fact on there second release but the first EP they made entitled Gee. Gee is those songs that makes you say "What in the fuck did I hear, but how genius was it to come up with a great chorus, beat, tempo, rhythm of the song" its highly rare to even come across these songs. Especially for me because I dont look into VMA artists or shit like that. Apperantly this kpop song came out in 2007 (I was about 15/16 at the time) I don't remember anyone ever mentioning the song (Due to not knowing anyone that heard kpop) most people at my school were ignorant with music and believed they were big shits for listening to the same shit everyone was capable of finding in limewire at the time (I include myself but I was only into bands such as Moneen, At the drive in, The mars volta, and Emanuel) now that I think about it I wasn't much of a screamo fan mainly because I thought after listening to bands like Underoath or Alesana Screamo sucked so bad (Not til I came across my first Real screamo bands Audience of One and The Spirit of versailles) lets not change subject now.. Actually Gee was sold wide world in every country the song was that good I must say for others of different countries to even like it. So it should be critically wide known as of now. It was a big big hit. So after listening to Gee and how obsessed I was with the song for like a week or 2 in August which was last month. I kept it as a secret I never mentioned the song neither did I played it out loud. I didn't even put it in my ipod to begin with just for how much of a big scandalous deal I was making it about. After getting too much into it I finally went on ahead and downloaded that Gee EP and was I very disappointed but like I said still impressed at how kpop is much better than Apop. Mainly because kpop focuses on different rhythm patterns in which Apop is much more of a half assed song that can take 10 minutes to make. As for the song Gee it seemed like they took a good while to make the perfect.song Girls generation will be remembered by. The 5 songs sounded nothing like Gee neither did the rest of the discography. But I managed to come across a CD single of Gee which is simply Gee as a 3 track. One being the normal Kpop Gee, a Japanese language of Gee and a sorta instrumental of Gee. Would I buy it? Perhaps its 10 bucks plus 3.99 shipping. I'd say maybe if I have spare bucks. But as for myself I ended up adding the Kpop Gee version and a full on instrumental version of Gee mainly because the beat is too fucking good to easily let go of. I might want to make love to it one night so I need that just in case. So that ends the story of Girls generation and how far I got to ever liking them as my music legacy. They are added on my library of music knowledge of course.

Instrumental

As for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu I would say she is much more of the better version of Lady gaga? (A personal.opinion) This chick is actually a model and some blogger. She then began to make music. As for her music let me explain slowly by releases. I went on with her first EP and why? Well I first came across with her single that made her famous even in America. Shit after hearing her single entitled "Ponponpon" I had a mix feeling not a negative one but a "I saw something wierd that was too wierd for me yet I digged this song so damn much" and the beat the god damn beat is pretty catchy that even her singing "ponponpon" will ring in your head afterwards. So after listening to this I went on ahead and downloaded her first EP "Moshi Moshi Harajuku EP and I was not disappointed one bit. It was just as how I expected it. It was decent and good. All 4 songs (not including the extended version of Ponponpon and the intro which is the first track) was actually very good. The flow and beat were produced very good. Whoever made the beats mustve been pros. After being stoked after listening to her EP I went on to her first debut "Pamyu Pamyu Revolution" and it wasnt as good as the EP but did have some really.good songs such as her single "Candy Candy" or Tsukema Tsukeru(Wearing false eyelashes), Drinker, Suki Sugite Kiresou (I love you so much I'm gonna explode), and Chan chaka chan chan which were the only songs that interested me on this length. As for her music videos yep there a bit odd Ill admit but something of it I just like and it fascinates me. I'll say this because I am highly new to this music and even for pop (Im not counting New kids on the block) as for the second length I have not came across it since hearing a few songs I just lost the happy vibe from the first EP. And that ends the chapter for Kyary. Good singer and hella fucking cute too. I admire her work. As well as something that will go to my music library and something I'll enjoy listening to time through time.

The point to this post is that. It really doesnt matter what you listen to. But before you listen to something question yourself "Why is it that I don't like this" or "What's it making it for me not to enjoy this" don't say "I hate it and I just don't like it". People like that lack music skills and have actually the worse music taste to ever come into. Don't be that person. I've given bands like Circa survive, The Pine, Cap'n jazz, Native, Colossal, Minus the bear, At the Drive-In, Our sunday affairs, etc a chance that K even own some of these bands albums like an example, I own Colossal's EP and full length. You may never know and they may be the best shit you'll listen to that it might be considered your favorite band or group. Which is why bands like Onsa, Prove, Malegoat, Tricot, Silent siren, The Cabs, 3mc tour, Akutagawa, Dig leg, A picture of her, and Kyojaku have been bands I have actually enjoyed listening to. You may want to do the same. Get it out there and have more musical experience to gain knowledge or even to simply enjoy. That being said I rest my case with this post and enjoy music.
