Well like in the last posts I mentioned I did go to that set. I can't talk about Calculator without mentioning the other bands who played first. The first band that are (I assume) new played. Really digging the riffs here and there although no one seemed hyped for them. But many who stayed inside nodded and shit. Second band to play was Ten Thousand Leagues. I was suprised that Mark sang or even played new songs. The whole line up was different Andrew from Moldar played bass while Jeff from calculator played the guitar, nonetheless I was in love with the new tunes. La Bella was next which they announced a debut LP and played 2 new songs on their set I was digging the vibe a lot and I admire the vocalist from that band. He mentioned a story about taking his moms car driving a long way to watch calculator play. After that Dangers left, I wasnt too interested to see them although everyone else was and it seemed like most people went to go see them amd calculator. I stayed in the back on that one. Finally Calculator. I was front row on that one. They played 12 songs from all releases, we all shouted and screamed to those songs (I know the lyrics to these roots a little but more than the ones from This will come to pass. I havent heard that length as much but I loved it. At the end, they all took a photo and stuff I talked to Nik and told him he played a amazing set and asked for merch. Well I picked up the calc 7" in oxblood color and This will come to pass (I kinda wished I picked that shirt) its those nights I will remember its a sad day to say Moldar/Colorchromatic/Matsuri/John Cota/Summer Vacation/Calculator are all dead. God damn. Ill post a link to calculator's discography including the demo soon. I am planning on picking up New Forms 7" soon as well. I doubt Ill get the 4 way split LP. Almost everything I have id say.

Colossal Rex
Well I just found out they were once called Colossal Rex and released a 5 song single sided limited 12". I believe this was released last year. The songs were recorded in 2012 (still some confusion) but it is Colossal Wrecks alright. You can also download this for free or buy it off Mountain Man Records and I believe Lauren Records might have this as well.
Colossal Wrecks
Last night was one of the most important events I ever attended to. Calculator's final show. It went great and it was a extremely good set. A band called Sophie and Dangers played along side my cali favorites Ten Thousand Leagues and La Bella. Calculator played about 12 songs 1 off the last 7" another off New forms 7" and 5 off This will come to pass and another 5 off These roots grow deep. Possibly the best show I have ever went to. Well after the show I met up with Mark and I bought some merch off his label Kyeo Speaks months ago and well he was a nice guy. He had run out one of the tapes I ordered so he gave me 3 random tapes Kittyhawk, Fugue and Lester Freamon. I also got my Dream Caste tape I ordered. But he also gave me 3 records the 2 Ten Thousand Leagues splits and Colossal Wrecks debut LP (will talk about right now hold on) after that I went up to Nik about Calculator merch but he was pretty busy and I guess he didn't tell me that the merch was being sold at the back of the venue (Bridgetown DIY) and I got myself Calculator's final 7" and This will come to pass (Both Count Your Lucky Stars releases) in the end it was a cool ass night, I didnt get home until 1 in the morning. I was off beat tired. Today morning I woked up and looked at the zines I ordered and Mark threw in Her breathe on glass compilation cd What we left behind and Matsuri's Whales EP (no covers) but that is fine I can't complain. Well then I checked Colossal Wrecks and I found out these guys are from my hometown. I have known them or saw them being mentioned here and there through Lauren Records but didn't think they'd be from my area. Well they sound good. A pop punkish emo band is all I can say about them. I am not too familiar with them yet. But I will once I spin this record every so often. You can download there LP for free on their bandcamp or you can purchase one off Lauren Records or my city's finest label Mountain Man Records.
