For The Shits And Giggles- Undercover Hoe's Demo

Yeah, .Elaine. the now For the shits and giggles. New drummer too. Well We havent completed the demo yet but by the end of August we should. It will be a 5 track demo of course entitled "Undercover Hoe's" The artwork well it stands for e.m is all I can say which is relevant to the track titled "E.M.I.A.U.H" Which on the .Elaine. Post of the unreleased tracks I mentioned of a song titled "Estephanie Martinez Is A Undercover Hoe" I shortened the track. Anyway. We are also thinking of recording an EP in the fall maybe about 6 tracks along with a newer version of E.M.I.A.U.H. I already know the next songs were going to record for this demo. I don't know if there will be a physical release of this demo. It's a maybe of 25 CDr and 10 on tape copies of this demo using the same artwork as below. So who the fuck is the chick in the artwork, well there's a reason why the demo is entitled "Undercover Hoe's" no? Thats right a undercover hoe. Were hoping on doing small shows around for friends and new friends. Well spread the word of this awesome new demo (shitty demo) were doing and the band For The Shits And Giggles. By the end of August this demo will be done and available for free at our bandcamp. Demo's will be sold at our show for $2

For The Shits and Giggles

So finally we jammed today. Within the whole jam session we were able to record this misreable pile of shit. This is just a rough demo we did. We are still recording maybe another 3 to 4 tracks for our "Undercover Hoe's demo" I got to say it kinda reminds me of Merchant ships/My head in clouds/Fiction like non fiction. Maybe you guys can be the judge of that. We kinda fucked up on the song, oh well its a shit anyway. We are planning on recording it again for the next release near future for an EP. I wrote another song down which we will record within this week. I don't know if this demo will be a digital only or release it on a few tapes and cdr's. We had a good time playing this song and felt like old times when we'd played in my garage (which we did) So this song was just recorded a few hours ago (post time) so I hope you fellas like it. We will continue on as For the shits and giggles. Well We did a bandcamp today as well. So here you kids go. Be new fans of this rockin new band I am in. Spread the word please? And there will be bass for the EP hopefully we can find someone to play bass. I want the demo to be a 5 track So most likely there will be 4 other of this and for a show? Don't know yet. No Long Beach kid wants to hear pathetic songs or anyone for that matter.

What a shitload of fuck presents: Sad fuck you end of summer songs

So I am finally doing a little Compilation playlist just to remember this awesome summer. Summer is almost over and shit is about to get real. Well I planned on the songs to post on this compilation it isn't those compilations where there just pure new songs of new bands. This compilation is set of mother fucking songs with a fuck you hoe or fuck you fairy attitude. This Compilation will later be released in cdr in 2 different colors. Red and black. I was thinking of maybe doing a few 50 25 in red and 25 in black. I am not going overprice on this cd since most songs are pretty old but most of my all time favorites so my good guess they will be for a good 2 dollars worth. I like giving those who are interested low prices on releases so there ya go. I have the art work I will need to scan this later though and I am sure many will ask among yourselfs "why this is the art work". Everytime I start a new memory it ends the same that I even got used to it so much that I decieded to make this compilation for all those anal beads I can fianlly say after 6 years. Fuck you. 2 years is a long time to pretend. Now we start again.

Cover art

Well I took a snap of this photo, you can see it's my backyard and there's a bunch of boxes. Well the boxes are filled with old stuff I am going to sell at a yard sell which is in 8/18/2012. So why this sad gloomy vday bear? Because it's a piece of shit, and was a vday gift of an ex of mine who was the second last (won't mention any names). Well my mother put this on the box since she knows its a piece of shit as well. I noticed the bear looked gloomy af (maybe for making fun of it) well there you have it haha. Yeah fucking wierd. But thats not the point. The point is that this is m first compilation I am doing.

Here is the bands. a total of 20 bands and songs. Each song has a meaning to my life. There is a reason why I posted these tracks on here. Besides them being really fucking good. Some are present and past bands though most are dead bands. Don't worry of the initials on the bottom I just thought it give an good effect ahaha. I may do another Compilation in November of this year. I already planned for bands that will be on this Compilation. I don't think im release a physical copy and rather more of a free download. This vol. 1 compilation is of course free but if you want to purchase the cdr is up to you, it is why I am making a very little few since I rather want it as a free compilation. A few friends asked to make physical copies of this Compilation so I am doing the word. On the back cover of the tracklist you can see in DEERS! song I made the words Martinez larger than the rest of the tracklist. Thats a hint. Thats a hint that martinez is a a shithole

What a shitload of fuck: Sad fuck you end of summer songs Vol. 1

Lyrics anyone?

Audience of one- Track 1: You can’t tell the lie
Stay now You can’t lie to I, liar. You can’t tell the lie Stay now, again. Better off without you. Where are your reasons? I can’t see them. Where are your reasons? I can’t see you. You can’t tell the lie, Stay now. You can’t lie to I, Lie now again. Better without, yeah. Better off without you. Where your reasons? I can’t see them. Where your reasons? I can’t see them. Where your reasons? When you're leaving, I'll be singing. You can’t tell the lie,Stay now. You can’t lie to I, Lie now again. You can’t tell the lie, Stay now. Better off without you, GO.

Moneen- Start angry... End mad: Screw you and die I hope you burn.
You think you're worth more than you earned. You're nothing, you're worthless, except for these verses. Out with the new in with the old. Die. Honesty makes you do the strongest things like act angry. It's your life, your move, your chance to make good of the bad. Can't hide the fact that you still lied to us, you lied to them. Put the past behind, make it good there's one more thing to say. Say it. Two years is a long time to pretend. Now we start again. We've got to stay until the end. We've got to say it. Don't act suprised when we say it. Suprised when we say it.

Street smart cyclist- Hoods up: remember winter? we looked so young then it felt like summer as cold hit our skin and as the sun drowned we'd watch the moon rise and as the night froze, we'd live out our lives. but winter ends, and new leaves grow and now i'll never never never let this go.
the way it felt when things turned cold, our bodies freezing as our hearts turned cold.
when i would talk talk talk you were always there to listen to everything i had to explain, which would mean nothing at all. and i thank you, i thank you for that. and i love you, i love you for that

Merchant Ships- Old Grey: We are about to set our sails for the new lands, where we only know what we bring, where we can breathe without harm; we escaped the smoke, and no we will not forgive you. Don’t expect to get our phone calls, we heard you enough already. Please don’t think we’ll forget you, but don’t think that we’ll miss you; in time you will just be a ghost, one that we don’t even know. In time, you will just be nothing. We will look back at the fire and remember what itwas, realizing why we’re leaving and rebuilding “providence”,I love you, I loved you never, remember the times we can’t have back, but fuck the past; soon we’ll be alright, we’ve made plans to hold up our heads high

Sights & Sounds- The only time: Lets take a minute to talk about some things
that we should know before. Entering forward through Satisfied. Late night tune. Just after 2am you followed me home and I could read between the lines. My heart is racing, are we way out of line? I'm jumping at the drop of a dime I have never wanted this before but it's the only time That I ever wanted, needed more than this. The only time. The corners of these sheets They've come un-tucked. And I still hear you breathe but I'm losing touch with you. Slipping. Slowly. Slipping away

Sights and sounds- Part 2: So goodbye, I'd love to say you were mine...

Castevet- Stranger, you know: the stars came out to send you off, a long walk and a short conversation. one last chance to admit that our something was really more than nothing. and with a glance, this is the last time for you to see how much this meant to me. say goodbye. you never would, you never did. I never could, I never said. are you listening now, because you never did before. should I forget you now because I never could before.

Circa Survive- Resentment: I can't begin to wonder What you'd think of me If i could say exactly what i wanted But i'll bite my tongue 'Cause i know the day will come When you will see exactly who you are When you will see exactly who you are Oh How is it that we're the same blood Sometimes it's hard to accept When you lose the saddle not the horse Sometimes it's hard to live with Resentment like this (Sometimes it's hard to live with) (x3) I can't begin to ponder How quickly you would leave If you could know exactly what i thought But i'll never say Mostly 'cause i'm afraid And maybe i don't ever want to lose you Oh i don't ever want to lose you Oh How is it that we're the same blood Sometimes it's hard to accept When you lose the saddle not the horse Sometimes it's hard to live with Resentment like this (Sometimes it's hard to live with) (x3) Is it possible for you to admit you need us Is it wrong of me to want you to say you never meant to treat us that way We can forgive you but we won't forget this happened We can forgive you but we won't forget Oh It's the only way It's the only way that we will be together.

The pine- Loner: its not the same. it alone won't feel the same. and i miss my legs. shattered all my dreams. it don't feel like the same thing. are you laughing with or at me? all my happy times are memories. are you laughing with or at me? all my happy times are gone. the words come out all wrong. with your tongue tied you go dance to your song. you got lead blocks for feet and a bad bad knee. you stepped on her feet while you smiled with ease.

Sore eyelids- Whenever we meet again: I see your face and when I try to move I'm stuck. I call your name but when I try to shout I'm mute. it would never be easy but please not this hard. whenever we meet it's just always... it's always the same. You took it all away, you took it all away, you took it all away, all away. You will never be as close as then, when everybody seemed to turn away. you will never be as close as then, when everybody seemed to turn away from me. In my dreams, where my friends deceive me and leave me all alone, I see your face and when I wake up my pillow's soaked in tears. You'll take it all again, you'll take it all again, You'll take it all again, just like before. You will never be as close as then, when everybody seemed to turn away. you will never be as close as then, when everybody seemed to turn away from me. You will never see me again. you will never see me again. ever see me again.

Saetia- One dying wish: because it cuts so deep to see myself wishing upon melting stars I cut the cord I finally give in... beyond visions of wretched smiles and the dread that they've befriended I have seen an end to you and I (when did "we" begin) and a warped sense of being that I embrace must exist and we with whole hearts yet broken words we dream of wisdom but I yearn only for you you will destroy me with words that you have never spoken... I've drawn a picture of us twisted within yet below this world I absorb life from portraits as long as we remain abreast of one another we will never meet each other as long as we whisper to one another we will never fully hear each other as long as my eyelids are weighed down by desire and one dying wish I will never know when you appear

The Spirit of versailles- Dont mess with the dippity doo:If I close my eyes I hope to never open them again. I know that when I do, you'll be gone and I'll never see you again. I'll keep my eyes open, I'm not letting this one go. Far to many are gone and I still want to love, but what's left to love? This heart's here for you, this heart's here for me. It's everything you need, it's everything I need. They say nothing lasts forever, but I believe that love can last a lifetime.

Honeywell- You and me screaming, numb ears: my ears are ringing. my ears are bleedin. my ears are numb from all of your screaming. screaming words about how you fuck yourself all the time and screaming about how you fuck her all the time, how you fuck her all the time. my ears are ringing but I'm not listening, my ears are numb but I'm still not listening. I'm not listening anymore, anymore, anymore.... eromyna a n y m o r e

I wrote haikus about cannibalism in your yearbook- Untitled 10: Aside from everything like stuttering and shifting my eyes listen when i say, "hey don't be that way."

Suffix- Zombies: I don't understand these nights. We started this game off all wrong. Those lies you are telling are too much to come by. Wake up and start off fresh this time. Burning bridges isn't too far from the truth. Moving on is the best part about growing up. Happiness can't be achieved, when this shit is becoming too fucking routine. My trust is weak why can't you see? You're so naive why can't you see?

World at a glance- Inside jokes:I sometimes lay awake at night Waiting for my dreams To wake up the next day And hoping that I'll see Everything is back to normal Everything is as it was But I will never see this day And this is all because You're too blind to see The people that need you most Maybe I should die tonight so You can see My ghost I've never felt more cold I've never felt more alone I'm sailing on this ocean here Searching for My home We all laugh It's so fake I'm feeling sick Don't say that you'll wait long rebuilding yourself out of broken stone I want your respect I want you to care My hearts left in pieces And broken by the stairs

I couldnt find the lyrics to C////O- Shutter, Noisy sins of the insect- Untitled, Freaky j & the bears- Not this cowboy, Halfway to holland- The most convincing letter, and DEERS!-Martinez is a shithole (;/)

Chune

Ahh September 2008, (Yes another memory of my high school year) I remember getting high at Jebus old apartment house on Magnolia and 10th street in Long Beach. I remember those nights of getting high all over the apartment even his dog would hot box the bathroom with us. Just chillin listening to music and shit. Though I heard of Chune back in 2008 was when I heard of them. These guys are a 90's classic act to the San Diego scene in the early 90's while ska was getting mainstream along with Nirvana. Bands like Chune were getting recognize on the independent community. This band is often categorized as a Sludge/Stoner emo band. I agree. The band lasted 2 lengths a 7" and a split 7". Since I do know history of this band I'll give some infor. Burnt was there first ever full length released in 1993. It was a 7 track. It isn't a EP im guessing the time for an extended play album is 30 minutes or less I believe. Anyway, it isn't my favorite release by them but it is Headhunter records 26th release. Though this album represents a sludge mellow stoner emo indie act. Its a nice album that wasn't released on vinyl. Most bands like these from the 90's mostly released there releases on tape and vinyl's. Going to the next release was a 3 track 10" entitled Three ways to sunday. It is a nice release by them it contains a early version of my favorite track "Water Sandwich" the version on this 10" brings the times on 10th and Magnolia and the high times as well it also contains another song from Big Hat No Cattle called three man dream machine which was later changed to one man dream machine (Don't know why) and a different version track of there first release "Magnus". It also brings back the times when I went to some place in L.A (It looked like a deserted shit stain. It was a birthday party of a family relative and we went to a Shakey's. That same year Chune released a split 7" with Garden Variety the song from the split was also released in there last and my favorite release "Big Hat, No Cattle" its the same version as well. My lucky guess is that it was a preview the next release they were going to release in 1996. Well Now ima move to there last release "Big Hat, No Cattle" The CD contains 6 tracks. The whole album is very fucking good. It is my favorite album of the early 90's You can lay down spark blunts smoke to this until you fall asleep. Its a hushed beautiful album. Headhunter records released all the releases though I am not sure of the 10" who released it. Anyway the band did about 13 tracks. But left a nice legacy behind. I uploaded a discography on mediafire since there isn't any for this band especially any file of there rare 10" So I uploaded the 2 lengths and 10" in one.

Lync

"Cue Cards" that intro of a song will make you think of a lost love relationship. It is one of there most well known songs of this short lived band. The band formed in 1992 on there wiki it states there a post hardcore band. But they have more of that indie/emo sound alike bands like Patterns make sunrise, etc. There first and only full length was released in 1994 entitled "These are not fall colors" through the baddest indie label of the 90's yes. K records. The album contains 10 tracks including the classic act "Cue cards" I am not sure why they broke up soon. But they also have a second release of compiled singles and unreleased songs entitled "Remember the fireballs (Part 8)I am not sure why it was called (part 8) at first I thought there were other parts and got me confused til I then found out that's just part of the album title. The album contains 14 tracks including 2 single 7"s "Pigeons" and "Two feet in front". The other 12 tracks were unreleased tracks. I don't know or anyone else does what releases they were going to come out in. Maybe a full length that never came out? The album came out in 1997. Well that's all I know of Lync I found this band on a old blogspot "Hardcore for nerds" Where I found Lync, Kolya, Boys life, Honeywell, Guyver one, and Portraits of past. It's a blog I will never remember. Lync is a great 90's indie/emo band. And a classic. Lync's music is credited with influencing the sound of later acts such as Modest Mouse, Roadside Monument, and The Promise Ring. It's a honor to post this band on my blog <3 These are fall colors
Remember the fireballs (part 8)

Beau Navire

Okay, I took specific time for this post. One of my all time favorite skramz/hardcore punk/screamo bands that are out, and these dudes are hot on there releases. I knew these dudes when they were barely working on that Demo tape and were called "Life Moves" I am not sure why they changed the name but Beau Navire is fucking cool as well. I hate side a/Side B mp3 track sets, I fucking hate that shit. But this band is very memorable for my hard struggle and my content side of my life. I do remember around December 2010, I dropped my first Ecstasy pill. I remember feeling all good, tripping out on that horrible robot chicken and I decided to hear Beau Navire for the hell of it. Well while on E I fucking flipped out on the demo version of "Fitting pieces" (My favorite all time favorite old song by beau) My heart was content and happy for living in this world where I can hear this song. Deep inside I did say to myself "This sounds like shit but its such a pretty song" Well I also heard there song "Ship to Shore" that beggining slow part gave me a warm feeling in my concious. I had the best E trip of my life listening to those 2 songs on non stop the whole night. Since then I have matured my life and felt a sort of change in this body. Its pretty fucking crazy even to explain this change. I happened to own Beau Navire's "Hours" on CD which I got for like $5 at bear records I believe or radical friends. One of the labels sells it or was seeling it for $5 while the other was selling it for $10. I also grabbed a copy of there original bands name release "Life Moves" I thought this vinyl was cool for the fact since its a one side on the back side of the record contains the lyrics of the 7 tracks. That is pretty fucking brain thinking genius. And lastly I own that glow in the dark Adobe homes/Beau Navire split, it was more of a gift kinda since I ordered a Love Animals Forever Beau Navire shirt they didn't had any so they sent me a BK Boxing shirt along with this record. I thought it was fucking cool since I like AH and BN. Theres been 2 releases so far from BN this year, Lumens and that republic of dreams split. Lumesn, I thought it was a decent great record, but not as badass as Hours or Life Moves. There split though actually has a reminding of Hours as if those 2 songs off the split were on Hours (Which are not) so I thought the split was nice. There split they did with suffix in 2011; by the way did Suffix break up? I mean Anne is now in Lord Snow and other members of suffix went to form some other stuff, but since suffix never mentioned they broke up, well I will cover that on another post since Suffix is another great band I like along with Lord Snow. BN did 3 tracks on the Suffix split though 2 of the tracks sound like they shouldve been one but seperated the tracks into 2 don't know why but I am still fine with that. Tracks are pretty cool one of them actually came way before the split was even made which was in that That's Punk Compilation. It was the only reason I checked that compilation which that was where I heard of the band El Spectre, Trampoline dreamers, and the shitty acoustic band Teens. Well anyways I am going to review a little something on every release beau did.

Demo tape 2009
Well let me first state what I kinda know of this demo, a few were made about 30 or 40, they came in small zip bags and from what I've heard a patch? (BN should make patches, I been dying to have one on my sweater) The demo appears to have 6 tracks along with a bonus hidden track "Fitting Pieces" it personally is my favorite song and version by BN it is what made me fall in love with BN. Some of these songs were later added to the first length "Life Moves" While songs Diary of the sun, The house from Cellar to Garret, Heartwarmers and My, My... You've Grown were only on the demo tape whle Fitting pieces, Crocosmia, and Ceilings revealing cities went on to newer recorded versions on life moves. For there Demo this tape is fucking awesome. It's the first I heard of BN though I didnt get a chance to buy there demo tape, when I downloaded this demo tape it had that side a/side b mp3 format, I hate that shit so I later found a file with the songs seperated from each other. I did noticed both files have different versions of songs. on the side a/side b the versions of the songs have a better quality and the intro to Fitting Pieces you can hear Jon shouting something about friends while the other version of the seperate tracks fitting pieces just starts off without Jon shouting. I don't know if there were 2 different versions of this demo tape but from what I heard it sounds like there are 2 versions which I havent seen in any blog covering this part of the demo or cover anything of the demo besides a description of the band and a download link to the demo. The demo came out in 2009. They changed there name to Beau Navire before releasing this demo tape. This demo is just the beggining path to BN. 8.5/10
FYI I posted both versions of the demo tape in the same file.

Myspace songs 2009
I am guessing the 2 tracks of these "Myspace songs were early versions which were later put in "Life Moves" Technicolor, Technicolor and Thumbreaker. These were the actual 2 songs I sat and listened to by beau navire since the demo link had that side a and side b and at the time I hated hated (Still kinda do) they also released a acoustic version of technicolor called "Fuck it, take 18" they did a neat ass job on these tracks. The quality on these songs are fucking groovy. There is nothing much else to say than that these tracks were the first I heard then the demo. 7.5/10

Te Lloraría Un Puto Río/Carrion Spring/The Discord Of A Forgotten Sketch/Beau Navire 4 way split 8" 2009
This split was also done in 2009 and has my favorite BN track as well "Ship to Shiore" There was a video on vimeo of a short music video of Ship to Shore I really don't know why it got deleted but it was a fucking cool short video of Beau playing inside an apartment. The song "These waves" is a great song as well and the early ones I heard to but the intro to "Ship to shore" brings such a content happy feeling, soft, mellow, content relaxation til the song gets all wild up and fast; that shit always gets to me when I hear this song. I think this split is now sold out. But I wouldve bought it just for that song. 8.5/10

Beau Navire/Adobe Homes Split 7" 2011
Well this is one of the releases I own. the split is a green glow in the dark. It has 2 songs one of BN and one of AH, both songs are cool. BN track is okay. It's not really a favorite of fine or a favorite split for that matter but its a nice release of 2 cool bands. I do remember some labels like Texas toast, Radical friends and Olhar de vidro were talking about this split back in December 2010 how it will be a glow in a dark split. I am not sure if they are a re press or will be one. But I am saving this split it will be very valueable in the future. Not many splits I know of are glow in the dark. That was a pretty good idea for a split, I do wonder how much was the cost to make all these splits. The vinyl were going for $5 a piece, who knows only friends of those bands and the labels know. 7/10

Life moves 12" 2011
I happen to own this record as well it contains previous songs Crocosmia, Ceilings revealing cities and fitting pieces as the last tracks on this length and Technicolor, technicolor and thumbreaker as well and 2 new tracks Whisper and March of 03. These songs are fucking awesome, Well this length is fucking good. I remember checking BN blog back in 2010 I remember them mentioning of this Full length, the cover art, etc. Though I will say it took them a while but I am glad this release came out fine. I got this record as a Christmas gift in 2011. I still spin it and smoke weed to it. It is a great length. It has a mixture of the old BN and the new coming BN. So it isn't those records where you hear a completely new sound to the band. It still has that demo reminding and a newish sound to it at the same time, I thought it was perfect for a record. 8/10

Suffix/Beau Navire Split 7" 2011
This is one of the records I didn't get. I love BN but I don't know it wasn't much of a favorite release of mine. Though I do respect both bands and are fucking good. Well the split is actually good to tell you the truth and both bands did a excellent job too. But on Navire's side theres 3 songs on this split though I will say the first 2 tracks Space Heaters Scattered trails and sound like there where split into 2 tracks instead of both of them as one. Good songs though Trei takes on the first track which sounds like the intro to the second track and the second track Jon shouts. the last track Sanctus Locus has a very fucking catchy rythmn and my favorite track off this split. Somewhat it reminds me of those 90's screamo bands. Well they did a great job on this track, this track was also featured on a Compilation which was actually released on the compilation first then a few months later released on this split. Just thinking about that I sort of had a flashback of those times. 7.5/10

Hours 2011
Yeah, I own the shit of the CD version for a major reason. To hear it wherever I go driving. Many have said "Album of the Year" which was released in 2011 I couldn't agree more. Hours was a fucking masterpiece to the DIY Community. Though Capsule also released "No Ghost" that same year and around the time "Hours was released. I will say Both albums are great and are remembered for being the best in 2011. Hours has more of a darker side to BN and more somewhat Chaotic. Songs sound a bit gloomier but when they kick heavy on the head banging part the drummer kris will fucking knock your head out with the fast crazy paste drum rythmn. I as well bought BN Hours shirt right when it came out on black since this album had a darker feel to the BN releases I believe getting the shirt in black would be the best. Since it was released in grey. Your can hear Trei's voice screaming in desperation while Jon shouts sounding like Jon is trying to calm Trei down from some anxiety. You can specifically hear it in the sound of the songs. But it goes into a mixture of anger, sadness, and gloom like feeling. I even thought the concept of the album artwork was fucking magnificent a guy falling in the bed turning into sand. Im guessing him turning into sand and Hours have some common with the title of the album which is hours. It even has some piano into the backgroun on some of the songs. I really digged this album. I even slept to this album, bad idea I woked up mad as fuck trei's screaming got stuck in my head and him sounding angry while I was sleeping I woked up angry as hell ready to punch my dog in the face. My favorite songs on this album would be Reinventing the veil, Cloud city, "It's not an art, it's a Myth", Lost and leaving, and Remnants. The tracks intrelude, Respire (Meta), and Respire (sync) are some nice instrumental tracks which brings the whole concept of the gloomy album together and has some strong effect to it. I really think this is far a great album of the century ever since in 2003 the release of .moneen.'s second full length "Are we really happy with who we are right now?". 10/10

Lumens 2012
Lumens unlike Hours, it has less of a gloomier theme to it. Though it kinda has some resemble to songs of hours. I am glad the band played it safe not changing to much of there sound just taking off the gloomier side of the previous album. The album sorta has a flashback to how the feeling of Hours was. Well whenever I hear both of these albums it sorta feels like that for me. It's like Hours was much heavier on the darker side and gloomy while Lumens is much of a flashback to Hours with less of a darker feel to it. This album doesn't bring a brighter feel to it neither but isn't dark as well. I really did like the 10 songs on Lumens. The songs that were outstanding to me were Communique, Dead end, Start over, Podebrady and Our Illumination. Since the album color is grey it brings more of a grey feeling to the album and when I think of gery I think of black and white, and thinking of black and white it reminds me of a flashback then of a flashback I say to myself a flashback of what? A flashback to there last album "Hours" which is dark just like the albums color. BN did a kickass job on this album. But I won't say "Album of the year" well not just yet. 9.5/10

Beau Navire/Republic of Dreams Split 7" 2012
After Lumens being released about a good month or 2 this split came along. I wont lie but the 2 tracks done by BN were excellent. Ghostlike sounds like a song that couldve been in Hours. It's a great song. Which gave me a flashback just like Lumens did to Hours. This track gave me a flashback to Hours. Phalanx of lenses actually reminds me of a track that couldve been on Lumens. It's fucking trippy to be honest. 2 tracks that remind you of 2 albums beau navire has done. It feels like a crash of Hours and Lumens are stiched together. For being there latest release it's not so bad. I am not much of a fan of Republic of dreams. But I BN side is fucking crazy just to think that one song has a Hours feeling and another to Lumens. Wow. 9.5/10

Well I am sure, BN has more releases to make before they call it a quits someday and turn into sand. BN has played a great ton of shows and whenever I think of Oakland I think of Beau Navire. Whenever I think of Skramz BN is one of they few I think of first. Whenever anyone asks for a reccomindation for a good band I listen to I give them BN first. It's the first band that comes to my head. I been wanting to this post ever since StillLifeWithCandle started. Until now, I finally posted. I am a big fan of Iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalsiminyouryearbook once I heard when I.W.H.A.C.I.Y.Y was doing a discography LP I also heard of "life moves" (Now Beau Navire) were as a band and working on a demo tape. I was so psyched when I heard the news. When I thought of Trei going to "Life moves" (Beanu Navire) I thought of a Iwrotehaikus and a second iwrotehaikus. I then found out that Trei started a band that was very shortlived called Xochtil I had a feeling BN wont have a iwrotehaikus sound. On there demo tape, BN had a more rhythm sound of iwrotehaikus. By the time of there later releases Beau Navire had there own sound as "Beau Navire". Well I had to upload the Demo, Suffix/Beau navire split, and Lumens. Most of the mediafire files were deleted for some stupid reason, but hey. Support this band as well and buy there shit too. Its better to have mp3 file and a physical copy of what they have. Dont be a cheap bastard and not buy any merch of them. So support these awesome fucking dudes. I want to hear more music and releases from them. Check there labels and buy some shit. You will help BN, the label, Friends, you yourself as well
