Marquette

Lately I been on my softer side in music. Instrumental jazz math rock bands. Though this band is not instrumental it still follows the footsteps of a mathy tune. This band existed from 2005-2007 they only released 2 EP's one entitled Megafone which has 5 songs and the other entitled Waxing/Waning it also has 5 songs but 2 of them were in the Megafone EP that are different versions. They recorded 10 songs but did 8 songs. After this band they formed to Penpal (Not much of a big fan of that band) then they formed another band that did 7 songs only. Since then I haven't heard anything of these members. Though Marquette is my favorite from the other 2 bands. I decided to post them on here so that people could check these 2 EP's. There very good and easy to listen too. It is good music for the starting summer.

Cunter

This is one of the rarest posts on any music blog, I actually tried looking for anything on these guys and nothing was found. It took me a long while to find there vinyls online since the vinyls were limited pressed and everything was digitally downloaded on there bandcamp but not free of course. The band was originally called Hunter but changed it to Cunter 'cause some douchebags were going to sue them since they had the name Hunter. This band has members of Moneen, Alexisonfire, Haitian Knife Fight, and the abandoned hearts club. Kenny who is vocals/guitar from moneen plays bass in this band Erik Hughes who is bass for moneen is lead vocals for this band and then they have the drummer of Alexisonfire and so on... This band has 4 vinyls. The first was called 4 (all vinyls released are numbered) which were the first four songs then they have 8 which are nother 4 songs. They then combined the 2 vinyls into one vinyl and added 2 unreleased songs and called it 10. There newest 20 has 10 other songs so in total they have 20 songs. Wierd right. I found this band to sound somewhat like a 90's hardcore punk band. The band was majorly influenced they decided to start this band. Though the bands label is Dine Alone (ew) Dine Alone has lately tried going "Underground" and "DIY" by releasing limited vinyls and making vinyls instead of CDs. Kinda sound like copycats of DIY labels. Though I do find this band very low key under Dine Alone Records. Stupidly this band has a wiki page. Though very underground. I knew of this band when they released 20. I am a big fan of Kenny well was, I still think I wouldve known about this right when 4 came out. Sadly, I didn't. The band is pretty good itself. I do like the fact this band went on being Low Key and not being a major sell out and for that I will post them on my blog. If your a huge fan of any of the bands mentioned or Hardcore punk, this is a band you guys should look into

JFA

JFA in short and Jody Forster's Army in long was a early 80's hardcore punk band or what a few who grew up listening to to them "Skate punk" music. Here's the story how I found out about this band. My last day of my college classes I didn't show up for one of the final since I already had an A and it was more of a pass no pass class so If I got a C I would still pass. I was walking to the bus to go home and decided to hang out with one of my friends Jebus. Who was at his brothers house (Johnathan) and another friend of ours who we call (Monch) was there as well. Tehy waited for me so we cann all smoke together. I got there and decided to listen to some music. We put James dean, bob marley, easy-e and cypress hill. Monch then brought up JFA who said it sounded like a early screamo band. So I heard it and since I was pretty much zoned out it actually sounded like they were screaming. When I got home it sounded like nothing of what I heard at Jebuses brothers house. Though I did managed to like there first 2 releases. Once I heard the other releases, I saw what he meant that they were shit and not hard. So I am posting the 2 first releases of this band. The other stuff was more softer and had some 80's glam or some shit to it. Sounded nothing like hardcore punk as a matter of fact. The first 7" Blatant Localism and Valley of the Yakes were there best. Is all I got to say.

Blatant Localism 7"
Valley of the Yakes 12"

Minor Threat

Lately I been TRYING to listen to 80's hardcore punk bands. And to be bluntly honest it is hard for me to actually like any of these bands such acts as The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Clash and all the other bands that sound alike. Though there are 2 bands I did liked a lot one is Minor threat which will be on this post and JFA. Though I heard way back when Minor Threat started. I looked and came up with the first demo tape. I actually digged it pretty good. So I thought hey since I like this band and I should looked through there history. According to wiki, it states that the song "Straight edge" speaks about anti-drug and anti-drinking and shit. I really freaked out once I heard this band pulled some shit liked that. Though I was very impressed with there first demo tape. I went of to there second 7" since the first 7" are the same songs from the demo tape only more rough (which I like more). I heard there second 7" and my god it was fucking horrible (not as horrible as Fat mike from NOFX bitch tits or his stupid band) but it wasnt what I really expected. It is just my opinion though of course. Some of you will like others probably not. I didn't liked the second 7" at all, since I didnt checked there other stuff I saw no use since the band totally went on a slower tune I didn't have hope for me liking the other bands stuff. It is wierd the band re released there demo tape in 2003 on CD. In which I think that is the stupidest thing ever. I mean if the demo was on tape re release it on tape or at least on vinyl but on CD. Shit, I bet those poser kids got a copy of those and thought "Oh boy I have Minor Threat's first demo" It's a re-release dumb fuck and on CD, yeah thats so fucking cool right. I wouldnt necessarly buy it on CD especially if this crap is higher than 5 bucks there is no fucking way I would buy this. I personally liked the demo a lot. It really got me going, they somewhat remind me of a less aggressive soft side of Honeywell (Honeywell fucking rocks; every single release was great). I will only post there demo tape since it was the only good 8 songs I admired the most which goes with there first Self Titled 7". Don't hate me for not liking there other stuff. Like I said it is my opinion. I can't like yours all the fucking time or anyone else.
