Thingy

How odd not many people have mentioned the band thingy on any blog. Thingy was a indie rock 90's band starting from 1996-2000. They have one 7 song EP entitled "Staring Contest" and 2 of the longest fucking full lengths I have ever seen. one called "Songs About Angels, Evil, and Running Around On Fire" which has 24 songs.... Yes, 24 songs on there first full length thats almost a entire discography right? hahah. This album was released in 1997. It is my favorite album from them. There last and second full length entitled "To the innocent" which has 18 songs. Yep another long ass full length, that is almost Saetia's entire discography. The thing is that most of the songs are less than 2 minutes or less than a minute. I don't know much of this band. I do know the band .moneen. was influenced by this band. I heard of this band back in 2008 the first song I heard was the first track from To the innocent "Mayday". I suddenly forgot of this band til they popped back in my head and heard all there songs. Pretty decent. I really like the singing. It's very mellow, summer sound llike music. I don't know, I'm just using my imagination. I couldnt find there EP anywhere. Although a few songs are on youtube there okay. Not the best as there 2 full lengths but okay. These 2 albums are almost entire discographies. since they do have many tracks (but like I said at least 90% are short). I mean if you like indie pop with guy and girl vocals you will like this. It isn't as poppy as many entitle it indie pop. It is more of a indie band rather than pop. Well that's just me. Check this. Very easy to listen to. I tried looking for there EP. I had no luck, maybe you guys can help me find it. That be cool.

Suis La Lune

Last post was an old classic emo hardcore punk band. Suis La Lune (many of you know); those who don't are a fucking real I MEAN REAL EMO/SCREAMO band. They have many releases that even one just came out called "Riala". The band is fucking unique in there own originality of guitar style. A band called age sixteen was inspired that sound very alike them. I'm guessing they started in 2005 releasing a demo and a s/t 7" that same year, they also released 2 full lengths, one split tape, came in 4 compilations, one EP and a tour 7". I just heard there new LP. OH MY GOD its so god like. Topshelf records who released this beautiful art fucking did it well. One of the songs that really got into my heart was "Hands are for helping" it is the 4th track on the album. Hearing the first 4 songs from the LP I just knew this is an epic record and must have. I believe they have 2 demos I am not sure is 30 sek is a demo or just a re mastered version of the self titled 7" along with the emo apocalypse track. I do happen to have the comp tracks they released in there home land. I will post Riala. But please buy it. It is very beautiful and passionate, I recently ordered mine. I uploaded the s/t 7", re mastered s/t 7", all the comps and the emo apocalypse re mastered track. I couldnt find it anywhere else so I bunched it all together. Them mainstream "emo" kids definetly missed out on a epic band that are not worthy for there ears. I do hope this band makes many more releases and don't break up soon.

Portraits of past

This is one of the other early jams I found about. I first heard there song "Something Less than intended" Holy crap there self titled album is fucking epic. It is what real screamo and emotive hardcore is all about. I went through the whole album and it was fucking beautiful. I seriously saw no flaws in this album except for a cough in the background of "Something less than intended" in the intro; other than that the album is fucking great. I heard they didn't sell so good and had to throw many of there self titled's away. The band lasted shortly 1993-1995 or 1996 sadly to make a 7 song demo tape, Portraits of Past/Bleed split 7", XXX compilation 2x12", Stealing the Pocket compilation, self titled 12" LP, and also did a semi discography containing all the songs from the s/t a few 3 or 2 from the demo and 5 live tracks. They also reunited in 2008 and released a 12" entitled "Cypress dust witch" 4 brand new tracks. They play throughout kali. I really wished I went to go see them play. They haven't been heard since after this release and that reunion. Though Portraits of past will always be a classic on my book along with 90's forgotten emotive hardcore bands like Honeywell, Guyver One, in/humanity, Palatka, and such. anyways here's all there stuff. 2 songs from the demo come on the bleed split and one other track from the stealing pockets comp. The XXX compilation is definetly lost and its a lost song that cant be find anywhere not even in the Discography. I posted the discography so that you can get the live tracks.

The Hareste

I havent done much shit since last post. Though I did check that new Kali mixtape Volume 1. That shit is fucking dope for the fact they have Matsuri, John Cota, Summer Vacation, Leers, Ten Thousand Leagues, Comadre, Calculator, and Ruptures. All my favorite Kali bands in one comp. Ohh boy that is every kids dream that likes DIY bands. I must say it is one of my favorite compilations to date. check that shit out. its on Kalifornia mixtape volume 1 bandcamp. Anyway, Those who know The Hareste already know why I am posting them here besides the fact the fucking badass motherfuckers. But I also noticed I haven't seen discographies posted on the internet (that also includes the 2 songs from the Relics of Ordinary Life compilation they came in) the band did a s/t 7" of 5 tracks and an 6 song EP entitled A Symphony of Horrors... Yeah that's all they pretty much did throughout there existence of being a band. This band crosses between The Spirit Of Versaiiles, and Rue Morgue and somewhat Jeromes Dream I would say as well because of how the other vocalist screams. I don't know when they exactly started. There not my all time favorite band but they are fucking badass. Well enjoy this 13 song discography I posted on mediafire.

P.s this is actually an old post I never labeled until today.
